Silk Picture by Diane Miller. Donated by the artist.
This picture, based on the poem “The Bright Field” by Thomas Merton, is a scene of the hills of Ampleforth.
Diane is self-taught and has worked in many media, developing and moving forward all the time. Her ‘fragments of silk’ pictures have been a new discovery and mainly of the North Yorkshire moors where she lives. She recently led a creative group in a prison which she described as a wonderful time of giving and receiving. She is an oblate of Ampleforth Abbey and has led a retreat for many years entitled “Creativity through the eye of the heart”.
