The pilgrims set off at 8am on Monday morning from Val-des-Choux on a very hot and humid day, with everyone in cracking form and looking forward to the challenge ahead. They were ceremoniously piped down the drive by Iain MacGillivray (see far left) who is also walking on Week 1 – it may be too hot for walking in a kilt though! Communications in the depths of Burgundy are poor so we have limited information on the pilgrimage so far.
On Day 1, after leaving Val-des-Choux the pilgrims were walking in 32C and on Day 2 they left St Joseph de Clairval Abbey in Flavigny to spend the day walking in heavy rain.
